High School Workshops

This activity is designed to provide secondary students interested in exploring careers in the construction, industrial, service and motive power sectors with various hands-on activities related to different trades within these sectors. Students will have the opportunity to learn and work in a college stetting which supports dual credit and high skills majors opportunities.

The activities will be developed and delivered by college faculty in consultation with secondary teachers. Students will be introduced to the pathways that transition students from secondary to apprenticeship and related college programs. These workshops encourage students to complete secondary school and consider post-secondary education as their next step.

Exposing secondary school students to a variety of trades, technology and apprenticeship programs allows participants to better transition prospective careers as well as determine their secondary school course selection for future post-secondary education.
